Power Grid Restoration Optimization Considering Generating Plant Islanding Scheme

چکیده
The restoration process of the bulk-power transmission system following a partial or a total blackout, have two main issues during a restoration, those are voltage control and frequency control. Special attention is therefore given to the behaviour of network parameters, control equipments as they affect the voltage and frequency regulation during the restoration process. During restoration due to wide fluctuations in the frequency and voltage it becomes very difficult to maintain the integrity in the system. Inability to control the frequency may lead to unsuccessful restoration. Repeated collapse of the system islands due to tripping of generators either due to over frequency or under frequency causes delay in getting normalcy. The paper considers aspects of computer application in restoration and Islanding in context of Maharashtra State power system. During conditions of blackout, the process of Islanding can satisfy the power requirements for a particular area, thus assisting the grid operator as well as helping in reducing the time required for the complex restoration processes. The main obstacle in the process of restoration or islanding is number of switchgears located at various locations with different

An Intelligent Anti-Islanding Scheme for Synchronous-Based Distributed Generation Using Reduced-Noise Morphological Gradient
This paper presents a pattern recognition-based scheme for detection of islanding conditions in synchronous- based distributed generation (DG) systems. The main idea behind the proposed scheme is the use of spatial features of system parameters such as the frequency, magnitude of positive sequence voltage, etc. In this study, the system parameters sampled at the point of common coupling (PCC) w...

Islanding operation is one of the main features of a MicroGrid (MG), which is realized regarding the presence of distributed energy resources (DERs). However, in order to deal with the control challenges, which an MG faces during island operation, particularly when the transition is associated with certain excessive load, an efficient control strategy is required. This paper introduces a Centra...
متن کاملDistributed Energy Resources Protection Requirements in Future Distribution Grids
One of the key protection functionalities in the future active distribution networks will be reliable detection of islanding. Non-detection zone (NDZ) near a power balance situation and maloperation due to other network events have been the major challenges with traditional passive islanding detection methods like voltage, frequency, rate-ofchange-of-frequency, voltage vector shift (VVS). Howev...

Islanding detection is a necessary function for grid connected distributed generators. Usually, islanding detection methods can be classified as two catalogues: remote detecting methods and local detecting methods. Most of them have limitation and defects when they are applied in photovoltaic power stations. Recently synchronous phasor measuring units (PMU) is proposed to be applied for islandi...
